Skip to content Our industrial hygienists seek to identify potential exposures to regulated AND unregulated toxic substances. OSHA regulates only about 400 substances in the workplace. Yet, there are thousands of hazardous substances that are known and unknown, used and infrequently used in the workplace. Many are polymers, additives, and plasticizers. Some metals are used in isolated industries such as aerospace industry where special alloys are made using rare earth metals. Hazardous crystalline silica is using in many more products than most people are aware of such as high grit epoxy paint. The wondrous world of chemistry presents many challenges.
What are your industrial hygiene needs?
- Comply with OSHA regulations
- Minimize worker health impairments due to unknown health hazards
- Response to employee health concerns
- Assess workplace exposure control “effectiveness”
- Accident investigations related to real and/or suspect health hazards
- Review new work processes for possible industrial hygiene exposures
- Review new work processes, chemicals, and complaints
- Support exposures under questionable ventilation controls
